St Osmund’s CE Middle School is an over subscribed Middle School located in the thriving County Town of Dorchester.

The school is proud to be a part of the successful Dorchester Area Schools Partnership.

We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to help in both Key Stage 2 and 3, to start as soon as possible.

This role will involve general classroom support across both Key Stages, likely with a strong focus on supporting English and behaviour.  It may also include 1:1 support to several children as well as small group intervention work.  Candidates should have NVQ level 3 or equivalent for supporting teaching and learning in schools alongside an excellent standard of English and Maths.

At St Osmund’s Middle School there are:

  • Pupils who are motivated and love their school
  • Staff who work collaboratively to allow all pupils to achieve their potential and contribute positively to the world.
  • Fantastic resources, buildings and grounds which form a stimulating working environment

The role will be 28.75 hours per week, (8:45-15:15) term time to include three compulsory staff training days.

St Osmund's Middle School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people; this is a commitment which we expect all staff and volunteers to share. The successful candidate will be required to have a Disclosure and Barring Service check in line with the Governments safer recruitment guidelines.

We value the diversity of our workforce and welcome applications from all sectors of the community.

Please email Mr Absolom recruitment@stosmunds.dorset.sch.uk  for further details.  A St Osmund’s support staff application form is also available on our website.

Interviews will be held week commencing Monday 11th March

Should you not hear from us by the interview date, you have unfortunately been unsuccessful on this occasion.  Please accept our thanks for taking the time to apply for the post and we would like to wish you all the best in your future career.
