Carey Outdoor Education Centre situated within the Purbeck area of Dorset are looking for talented, independent and hardworking instructors to join the team for the 2019 season.

The centre which is a part of the Dorset Outdoor Education Service works mainly with school residential groups ranging from Year 3 to Year 8. Groups sleep at the centre in lovely Bell tents, typically staying for three days and two nights and our ethos is to support our guests in "living and learning in the outdoors".

We are absolutely committed to providing all our guests with the very highest levels of customer service and tuition. This often means going the extra mile to ensure that everyone, guests and staff feel valued and supported at all times.

The work is hugely rewarding, but also highly demanding and tiring. It is sometimes repetitive, so you should only apply if you are committed to ensuring that your group has the best session possible, regardless of how many times you may have delivered that session. Remember it does rain in Dorset, even in the summer!

You will be required to work at least one overnight duty per week, you will be paid a sleeping in allowance for this in addition to the hours worked. We can also provide you with basic accommodation, there will also be food available when we have groups on site.

Activities generally take place on our 14 acre site and include archery, tree climb, low ropes, tunnels, shelter build, team build, orienteering, mountain biking and a range of environmental and science-based sessions.
We would be most interested to hear from people with at least one qualification such as Archery GB, CWA or MIAS and some previous experience.

You will be paid on the Unqualified Teachers Pay Scale Point 1 and will also accrue annual leave which can be taken by arrangement during our quieter times.

We are looking for four people to join the team. There will be a training programme starting in March 2019 and contracts will end on 30th September 2019. There is some flexibility over end dates as sometimes additional bookings provide the opportunity to extend contracts.

Interview Date: 01 March 2019
