Salary details: £23720 - £39406
Key Stage 2 Class Teacher – full-time, permanent post from September 2019 (Main Scale)
We are looking for an excellent teacher with high expectations of themselves and children, outstanding classroom management skills and the desire to contribute fully to the wider life of the school.
We include a job description and person specification for a class teacher which details key responsibilities of the post.
We would welcome applications from candidates who feel confident to teach in any year group within KS2.
The first priority for all teachers is to provide quality first teaching to meet the needs of all children in their class. Year team members work together to shape and improve the curriculum based on the needs of the year group. Class teachers are responsible for the pastoral and academic progress of each child in their class, making use of the school’s systems for assessment and tracking pupil progress. Year groups meet weekly to share ideas, pass on relevant information and review practice. Working as a team, sharing resources and supporting each other are key elements of working in the year group.
Responsibilities of the post include the pastoral role of being a class teacher; working with a teaching assistant; contributing to the fuller life of the school; supporting school policies on behaviour and attendance.
If the successful candidate is a Newly Qualified Teacher, a suitable induction programme will be provided by the Trust.
We consider our school community to be friendly and supportive and look forward to welcoming a new member to our staff team.
Our 2014 Ofsted inspection report opened, “The head teacher and senior leaders have made sure that teaching is good, and that pupils learn well to reach standards which are typically above average. Achievement is good.” The same report judged all aspects of our provision to be good. We now wish to appoint a teacher to join us in building on these strengths to help our children to achieve standards that are judged outstanding.
The salary for this post will be on the Main Scale (M1 – M6) pay range.
