LGR Project Support Officer

Fixed term secondment to 31 May 2019

37 hours per week

£16,491 - £17,772

Open to employees of Dorset County Council, Christchurch and East Dorset Councils, the Dorset Councils Partnership, Purbeck District Council and Bournemouth and Poole Councils

On 26 February the Secretary of State announced that he has decided to implement, subject to Parliamentary approval, the locally-led proposals to replace the existing nine councils across Dorset with two new unitary councils.  This is a very exciting time for local government in Dorset.

We are looking to appoint a Project Support Officer to join the LGR Programme Team and to support this ground breaking and challenging work.

You will have an important role to play in co-ordinating the progress and risk reporting of the large number of projects and activities, undertaking research, maintaining the programme’s project management software, managing allocated tasks within projects and organising meetings, to include preparation and maintenance of agendas, notes and actions.

You will have experience of providing efficient, customer focused business support with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines. You will be a confident communicator using different methods and styles and will possess knowledge and practical application of IT systems. You will have a forward thinking and creative approach and work with others to develop innovative solutions.

There will be opportunities to develop and assist with the delivery of a range of projects and develop close working relationships with teams across the Programme.

Although the post is based in Dorchester, you may be required to work in various offices and other settings across the wider Dorset area.

How to apply:

To apply for this job, please read through the job description and person specification attached to the right of this page then follow the ‘Apply for this job’ link.  In the ‘Relevant Experience’ section of the application you will be expected to explain how you meet the criteria for this role listed on the person specification.  When explaining how you meet the criteria, please give examples that clearly demonstrate your skills, knowledge and experience.
