Outplacement Career Advisor

£24,799 - £28,785

Fixed term for up to 6 months

As we work together as Dorset Council, we will go through internal reorganisation processes to ensure that we are able to deliver effective services for the residents of Dorset, this means that we will inevitably see some organisational change.

To support those directly affected by the process who will be leaving the organisation through redundancy, an outplacement package is in place to help the transition from Dorset Council.

‘Outplacement’ is the term used to refer to the tools, support and information available to employees exiting the organisation through compulsory or voluntary redundancy.

To manage this support, the post of Outplacement Career Advisor has been created to work with individuals through this transitional period.

What you will be doing

You will be facilitating and delivering an outplacement support package to include career coaching and practical guidance.  You will sign post to available internal and external support tools, for employees at all levels of the organisation.

About you

You will have experience of career coaching or experience of supporting and guiding individuals through career transition.

Using a coaching conversation style, you will be confident in communicating to employees at all levels, both written, verbally and through digital tools. You will also be able to provide instructive, professional and relevant feedback.

This role requires an ability to build positive working relationships quickly and effectively and an ability to adapt your communication style appropriately to suit the needs of the audience.

You will be required to promote the outplacement support services so will need to have experience of facilitation and be confident in using appropriate tools and techniques to support successful outcomes, with an ability to prepare and present information effectively.

You will have an understanding of the recruitment and selection process and will remain up-to-date with the current employment market.
