LGR Personal Assistant to the Programme Director and Programme Team

Fixed term secondment to 31 May 2019

37 hours per week

£18,746 - £21,268

Open to employees of Dorset County Council, Christchurch and East Dorset Councils, the Dorset Councils Partnership, Purbeck District Council and Bournemouth and Poole Councils

On 26 February the Secretary of State announced that he has decided to implement, subject to Parliamentary approval, the locally-led proposals to replace the existing nine councils across Dorset with two new unitary councils.  This is a very exciting time for local government in Dorset.

We are looking to appoint an experienced and senior Administrator to support the LGR Programme Director and the Programme Team with this ground breaking and challenging work.

You will have a critical role to play in supporting the Director and the team with a high level of business support which will include, but is not limited to, acting for the Director with email and report preparation, complex diary management including arranging and co-ordinating meetings, note-taking at these and initiating and managing projects, data gathering, analyse findings and draft reports and presentations.

As you grow into the role you will quickly develop an understanding of the priorities for the LGR Programme Team. You will start to anticipate future needs and priorities accordingly, reacting flexibly to changing demands.

You will be a confident communicator using different methods and styles and will possess knowledge and practical application of IT systems.  You will have a forward thinking and creative approach and work with others to develop innovative solutions. You will build and maintain relationships, identify requirements and manage expectations. In addition to your own workload, you will be required to support your colleagues as the need arises.

Although the post is based in Dorchester, you may be required to work in various offices and other settings across the wider Dorset area.

How to apply:

To apply for this job, please read through the job description and person specification attached to the right of this page then follow the ‘Apply for this job’ link.  In the ‘Relevant Experience’ section of the application you will be expected to explain how you meet the criteria for this role listed on the person specification.  When explaining how you meet the criteria, please give examples that clearly demonstrate your skills, knowledge and experience.
