Food, Safety & Port Health Team

37 hours per week.

£29,909 - £32,233

What you’re great at:

You will be self-motivated, good at managing your work and problem solving. As a great team player, you will meet the various challenges and opportunities we encounter with enthusiasm and play an active part within our small and friendly team to deliver great service. You will have experience in food safety, health and safety and communicable disease work including consideration of enforcement action.

What you will own and how you will grow:

You will manage a range of programmed inspections and interventions and a caseload of reactive work (service requests and incident investigations). You will be supported by your Team Leader and together will explore the opportunities for further professional development which are available to you and of benefit to the needs of the service.

We are on a digital journey to provide the best online services for those that wish to use them to allow us more time to support those that need us most.

What we are about:

The team is part of the officer structure providing services for three councils (over a large mainly rural geographical area including the Dorset coastline) and Weymouth Port Health Authority.  The service has just completed a structure review and this post provides an opportunity to be part of the development of the team. The service regularly volunteers to assist in wider procedure development with national and local partner authorities/agencies.

Dorset Councils Partnership believes that people do their best work if we make it easier for them to meet their personal responsibilities.  The Partnership promotes innovative flexible and part-time working to support and encourage anyone who requires this flexibility to balance work and life.  The Partnership is committed to making our recruitment process barrier-free, and as inclusive as possible for everyone.
