The Christchurch and East Dorset Partnership is looking for a Planning Technician to join its Development Management section. The post will be primarily based in the Enforcement, Trees and Landscape Teams but may be required to cover work in one of the Development Management Teams. You will be responsible for managing your own case load and providing support to Planning Officers by undertaking a variety of planning related tasks which will include carrying out site visits, and supporting planning, enforcement, trees and landscape officers. You should be able to demonstrate a proven ability to make competent decisions and have a good understanding of the planning processes. The successful applicant will ideally have experience of working in a Local Planning Authority or a related area. You should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills, be able to work within statutory timeframes and respond professionally to enquiries from members of the public. The post will be based at the Civic Offices, Christchurch. There will be a requirement to travel around the Partnership Area (Primarily East Dorset District Council area) to undertake site visits. You will on occasions be required to work from the alternative base location in Wimborne.
