We are looking for an experienced manager, used to dealing with town planning matters at a managerial level in a large organisation, preferably with experience in the fields of major projects including strategic site allocations where major infrastructure requirements are needed.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of the Major Projects team of 7 senior officers and part of the management team in Development Services. The role requires a good understanding of development management and thorough understanding of the need to adopt a project management style for major schemes, working collaboratively to bring forwards development proposals alongside agents/developers and with local communities and consultees in the planning process. The team have recently formed and need a manager with strong people skills to help them adopt this project management style approach to major development and to deliver timely proposals to meet with the corporate objectives of Dorset Council’s Partnership.
