If you are, then a we have a great opportunity to join our Technical Support Teams in Planning. Following a restructure we have a number of posts available across our 3 area teams, hours can be organised to suit.
What you will be doing
Our technical support officers undertake the administrative tasks required to support a planning application through its process. Reporting to a Team Leader, the role will be varied and interesting and the post holder will need to be customer focused, confident in using their own initiative and able to prioritise a demanding workload to tight deadlines.
Details of the types of work undertaken nature of the work are provided in the Job Description and Context Statement . However, in summary the post holder will work as part of an area team responsible for delivering all aspect of support, task undertaken will include :
• Registering and validation of all types of planning applications.
• Working closely with our planning officers to provide a high quality level of support during the application process.
• Be a point of contact to our agents and applicants to answer any queries or provide updates on their applications.
The experience, knowledge and skills required for this role are specified in the Person Specification. In summary we are seeking individuals who are organised, able to meet the demands of a busy work schedule and ensure deadlines are met. You will need to have good communication skills and build working relationships with our planning officers. Be an effective team players as well as have the ability to work of your own initiative.
IT systems used include Microsoft packages, Skype, Teams and service specific systems such as Mastergov, Acolaid and Uniform. Training for service-based systems will be provided however a good working knowledge of IT including the use of Outlook, Word and Excel is essential. Our services are customer focused and the post holder will be communicating with a wide range of stakeholders.
