Planning and Building Control as a service are currently on a journey to transform the way we work, to make us more customer focussed, efficient and provide an exemplary service . Would you like to join us on this journey and be part of a team that supports the delivery of these services. Following a restructure we have a vacancy for a Full Time technical support officer in our Data and Performance Team.

What you will be doing

Reporting to a Team Leader, the role will be varied and interesting and the post holder will need to be customer focused, with a can do attitude towards continued development and improvement of the service. Our Data and Performance team will be responsible for the system administration of our new software Mastergov, the performance management tools and statistics they produce. As well as input into the web pages, this is across both our Planning and Building Control service. About you

The experience, knowledge and skills required for this role are specified in the Person Specification. You will need to be an effective team player as well as have the ability to work with your own initiative.

You will need to have a higher than average ability and confidence in the use of I.T. Training for the service-based systems will be provided but the ability to pick up new I.T skills along with processes will be key to being efficient in this role. A natural intrigue to how systems should or could be developed would also be advantageous. Other I.T we use include Microsoft packages, Skype, Teams and service specific systems such as Mastergov, Acolaid and Uniform.

Additional Information

There is no significant travel requirements for this role. However, you may be required to work from different Dorset Council offices in order to provide resilience to the team.
