Hours: As a member of the Animal Park staff you will be flexible to meet the needs of the business working between Monday-Sunday. Hours will range from some early starts and late finishes. This will be discussed with your line manager.
Salary: National minimum / Living wage depending on age. £6.15 - £8.21 per hour (rising to £6.45 - £8.72 in April 2020
Job Purpose: As a member of the Animal Park & Gardens team you will be responsible for ensuring that all our visitors leave having had a great visit and impression. You will be used to working in a fast paced attraction while consistently delivering high customer service standards putting our customers at the heart of everything you do. You will have a keen interest in retail, events, catering and showing your ability to work as part of a team as well as on your own.
Vision: At Kingston Maurward Animal Park we take pride in offering an excellent customer experience, working in a fast-paced attraction, you will have excellent customer service and the ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences. You will be a strong team player and a people-person; you'll enjoy meeting people and helping to positively contribute to our visitors' great day out.
You will also assist in engaging visitors with our animal collection by delivering up to date talks, tours, educational sessions and birthday parties, this is a physically demanding role. You will need to be capable of working within all areas of the attraction on a rotational basis. No two days will the same – from serving coffees and food in our new café facility, or delivering engaging talks and demonstrations with the public, to ensuring that our facilities are presentable at all times. You will have strong communication skills, plenty of enthusiasm and energy coupled with the ability to interact with our guests. You will have the ability to ‘think on your feet’ and take ownership of any issues that may arise. The ability to present confidently in front of an audience is a must and the ability to communicate effectively to all our visitors is key to being successful in this role.
The attraction is open 7 days a week, therefore you can expect to work during our peak times – school holidays, weekends and bank holidays with some early mornings and late nights. In return you’ll enjoy working in a fantastic working environment with a friendly supportive team.
