An exciting opportunity to join the Adult Social Care Team. This position sits within Adult & Community Services and is based at Yeatman Community Hospital, Sherborne. You must have a good working knowledge of the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act and be able to prioritise your work.

You will have a complex case load but receive excellent supervision and training opportunities.

We are looking for a team player who will fit into a motivated Community Team.

You must have a degree in Social Work / Occupational Therapy or equivalent, be registered with the HCPC and be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the post.

Dorset County Council requires all newly qualified social workers to undertake the assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE) and meet the expected standards during the ASYE period.

The ASYE arrangements should normally apply to the appointment of all newly qualified social workers who qualified after September 2012 unless they can demonstrate that they already fully meet the standards laid out in the professional capabilities framework (PCF).

This post involves working with children or vulnerable adults and/or having access to significant information about them and will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
