Childcare Worker (15 hours per week) (Blandford)
Salary details: £6894 - £7167
Are you passionate about improving outcomes for families in Dorset? Do you have what it takes to join us and make a difference to the lives of children, young people and their families?
For a period of approximately 18 months we are creating 14 additional Family Worker posts across our seven Family Partnership Zones. These will mainly be Grade 8 posts, but there maybe 2 or 3 Grade 9 positions which will be dependent on experience. The Grade 9 positions will be expected to line manage as well as provide interventions.
We are looking for experienced Family Workers as these posts will work closely with social care teams and the Family Focus team, have capacity to work over a longer time frame, and have the skills to make a lasting difference.
Your skills will be utilised to deliver relationship based practice and provide bespoke interventions to meet the whole family’s need so that behaviour changes initiated by the social care intervention can be reinforced or that escalating needs identified within the Family Partnership Zones are prevented from getting worse.
These additional posts will work peripatetically across all our Family Partnership Zones so that we have the flexibility to respond to needs. The Zones are geographic areas based broadly on the footprint of school partnership areas and include all services, both public and voluntary, working with children, young people and families as well as the communities within which they are sited.
Because these posts are being funded for a fixed term using payment by results funding from the Troubled Families Programme (locally referred to as Dorset Families Matter), we need people who can step into these roles and make an immediate impact. Delivery at pace is essential.
Please use the context statement, job description and personal specification when making your application to demonstrate your skills that show you can help us deliver this vision with commitment, enthusiasm and at pace. There is a requirement for travel and you will need to have an enhanced DBS check because of the nature of the work. Secondments may be considered for existing staff who wish to develop first line management skills – you will need to seek permission from your current line manager before you apply.
Applications should be submitted by the deadline of 9th September. Interviews are likely to be held on 27th and 28th September.
If you would like an informal discussion about these posts, please contact one of the Strategic Leads for our Family Partnership Zones listed below:
This post involves working with children and/or having access to significant information about them and will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
