Business Improvement

Business Transformation Programme Manager

Full Time 37 Hours per Week

Grade 9 £32,233 - £35,229

Business Improvement has been at the centre of the development of Dorset Council’s Partnership. The Business transformation team are an integral part of this service and has supported the Partnership through its organisational and cultural transformational journey. More recently Business Transformation has taken up a wider corporate projects role; centrally providing capacity and focus towards the realisation of these projects, and the co-ordination of strategic level reporting from across the Partnership.

This is a pivotal time for our Councils, as services are prepared for transition into Dorset Council and priority projects are successfully delivered within a set time frame.

What you’re great at:

We are looking to appoint a Business Transformation Programme Manager to develop the Partnership’s approach to change management that supports the successful delivery of transformational activities both internally and externally through the application of appropriate governance measures; ensuring that the right activities are commissioned and correctly resourced. You should have a proven track record of working in a multifaceted project environment.

As Programme Manager, you will ensure that the transformation team concludes the partnerships internal transformation programme and delivers against the requirements of Shaping Dorset Council. To achieve this you will undertake effective liaison and support to the programme office; and make sure that the right activities are commissioned for the Partnership and its services in preparation for transitional arrangements.

What you will own and how you will grow:

Within Business Improvement we expect colleagues to own the projects for which they are responsible, to take responsibility for the quality of work delivered and resolve problems and difficulties as they arise.

We also expect colleagues to contribute to the whole service and to the success of the Business Improvement family as a whole by sharing ideas, supporting other areas, helping colleagues to succeed, promoting the service and asking for help and advice when needed.

In return, we recognise and are committed to developing our people. Business transformation offers great career opportunities for personal and professional development to acquire new skills and experience, and broaden your professional knowledge and understanding. You will also have the opportunity to attend workshops, seminars and the like and the opportunity to work alongside a wide range of project management and allied professionals.

What we are about:

Dorset Councils Partnership believes that people do their best work if we make it easier for them to meet their personal responsibilities.  The Partnership promotes innovative flexible and part-time working to support and encourage anyone who requires this flexibility to balance work and life.  The Partnership is committed to making our recruitment process barrier-free, and as inclusive as possible for everyone.

How to apply:

To apply for this job, please read through the job description and person specification attached to the right of this page then follow the ‘Apply for this job’ link.  In the ‘Relevant Experience’ section of the application you will be expected to explain how you meet the criteria for this role listed on the person specification.  When explaining how you meet the criteria, please give examples that clearly demonstrate your skills, knowledge and experience.

Please note that staff currently in the redeployment pool will have prior consideration for this position.
