Personal Assistant to the Corporate Director of HR & OD and Corporate Director of Digital & Change (Fixed term Maternity cover) (Internal applicants only)

Hours: 37 per week 

Salary: £21,589 - £25,295

If so, an exciting fixed term, internal administrative opportunity has arisen to join the Senior Leadership Support Team to provide maternity leave cover. This role provides an opportunity to raise your profile, move out of your comfort zone, rise to a challenge and really make a difference. This role could be considered as a secondment opportunity subject to your manager’s prior approval. 

We are looking for a motivated and experienced administrator to take on this challenging but rewarding role, working in our dynamic and vibrant office environment.

What you will be doing 

You will assist the Corporate Directors in developing and managing key relationships with elected members, stakeholders and other local authorities and act as a first point of contact. You will need to be a skilled communicator with the credibility to liaise externally. Internally, you’ll be working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Corporate Leadership Team, Council Leader, Elected Members and Staff, so you will possess excellent influencing and negotiating skills. The role requires commitment to delivering a first class service.

Good written communication skills are equally essential – this varied work will include drafting and assisting with high quality correspondence, reports and presentations within prescribed and often demanding timescales; dealing with complaints; complex diary management including arranging and co-ordinating internal and external high level meetings and events including; ICT & Digital Executive Advisory Panel, Corporate Joint Consultative Group, HR/ Trade Union monthly meeting and HR/OD leadership meetings.

About you  

You will work with colleagues to resolve problems and support the removal of blockages to efficiency. You will assist the Corporate Directors with the Councils objectives and identify and undertake relevant research and you will attend and support meetings. You will be able to prioritise and work to deadlines as well as working on your own initiative and as part of a team.

Ideally you will have experience of complex diaries and dealing with difficult people sensitively and assertively.

You will require excellent working knowledge and experience of competently using a wide range of IT applications including Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel.
