We are looking for a part time Business Support Officer to join our Leisure & Tourism Team in Dorchester. This is a very small team that deal with a range of specialist administrative duties, supporting the work of the Leisure Commissioning Manager, Cultural Development Officer and Sports Development Team.
You will have experience of providing efficient, customer focused business support with the ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines. You will be a confident communicator using different methods and styles and will possess knowledge and practical application of IT systems with an emphasis on relevant databases, excel and financial systems.

You will also be required to work flexibly across the service and support other work such as Artz + Sportz + which will require an understanding of GDPR legislation and sensitivity when communicating with service users.
The successful applicant will have on the job training and be given opportunities to develop and assist with the delivery of a range of projects working within a department which takes a positive approach to personal and professional development
Although the post is based in Dorchester, you may be required to work from other offices owing to the needs of the Council.
You will be an experienced administrator who can demonstrate a wide range of administrative skills and practical application of IT systems including knowledge of Excel to intermediate level.
You will have knowledge and understanding of financial administration demonstrating accurate numeracy skills and attention to detail and have an ability to create and maintain financial spreadsheets.
You will have a forward thinking and creative approach and work with others to develop innovative solutions and be able to communicate to a high standard using different methods and styles
The successful candidate will need to be flexible and work well in a team, be able to work unsupervised or with minimum supervision, organise and prioritise own workload effectively and make informed decisions
