Shared Lives Officer (Dorchester)

Adult and Community Services have a vacancy for an ASYE / newly qualified Social Worker.
This is a part time position (30 hours per week) based at Dorset County Hospital, Dorchester. Experience of hospital discharge is desirable but not essential. This vacancy has become available due to a team member promotion to a higher grade post within the team.
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Social Worker with good interpersonal skills, to work with individuals creating timely, person centred, strength based assessment and discharge plans.
You will have good communication skills, work in a collaborative way and be supported to work with risk assessments in some of the more complex cases in order to develop your practice.
This is a development opportunity and environment for a social worker wanting to progress their learning. You will be well supported with regular monthly supervision and included into our welcoming and supportive team.

You must have a degree in Social Work or equivalent, be registered with the HCPC and be able to fulfil the travel requirements of the post.
Dorset County Council requires all newly qualified Social Workers to undertake the assessed and supported year in employment (ASYE) and meet the expected standards during the ASYE period.
The ASYE arrangements should normally apply to the appointment of all newly qualified Social Workers who qualified after September 2012 unless they can demonstrate that they already fully meet the standards laid out in the professional capabilities framework (PCF).
